Liya outside the Daniel Supermarket. Mark and Liya at the Tram Stop waiting for the Tram. Here is Liya, waiting. Still waiting.
More views from the Tram Stop. Across the road is a small Market. After riding the Tram we got to Dad's House. After leaving his House we took this photo of one of the nearby buildings. Next day we are joined by Olga who is Liya's Sister-in-Law. They are walking up the path towards Dad's house with the Kazzinc Chimney's on the horizon.
Another view of the road to Father's House. Some of Papa's neighbours. When we get to Dad's house Olga's Daughter Ellya and our girl Yana are there. Heh, Yana, say cheese. Yana in typical photogenic mode.
More views of the house. Maybe Dad should paint pictures of his house. His house is just like those paintings they make into Jigsaw Puzzles. So very blue.
Next Day and Mark is back outside the Sanatorium where he stayed back in 2000. On the same day we went to the school where Liya used to work. Mark photographed these hero tributes opposite the school. Inside the School (Gymnasium 38) there was this curious guide to surviving a Nuclear Blast. Having survived the fallout, the girls (Liya and her friend Inessa) proceed onwards.
Meanwhile, sometime later down at the Chinese flea-market, Liya meets an old friend. Here you can buy anything. Anything but not a tin opener. Here is Liya and her friend Lusya who helped Liya shop for a washing up bowl. We also bought some tea-towels.
Next day Mark spent a cold morning in the Heroes Square taking pictures. The real name for this place Ushanov Square. A close up of the Monument. More monument.
Later on we walked around the Irtysh river taking in the War Memorial on the way. Here we are on the way to Inessa's Apartment. And Liya thinks her bum is big? This is actually the a picture taken from the same place. Government buildings in Ust. More monkeys on the fountains between the big Square and the Mosque.
Liya chills out at the Fountain. View of the Mosque. Liya stops to take a picture of the Mosque. Later at Inessa's apartment we meet her husband Sasha and her daughter Alina. Yana and Alina have been best friends for years.
You may also notice Irene has joined the party as well as Yana. Next day we see Liya outside the Kazzinc-sponsored Ice Hockey Stadium - home to the Torpoedoes Ice Hockey Team. Mark and Liya take a walk down to Ushanov Square. We are on our way to Helen and Sergey's Dacha. Here we see the Culture Palace where Liya learnt to Dance as a Child.
